The Great Anime Marathon of 2020! #81 – #85: Son, I am disappoint

Here we go again, another round of the kind of anime you wouldn’t want your parents to walk in on. On top of that, another round of anime that score between one and two stars at best. It’s not that I’m against this kind of thing, but there are better examples out there.

The following is a spoiler-free list of anime I’ve seen this year in no particular order:

#81: Burst Angels

I remember when I bought this on DVD a very long time ago, each volume as it was released. It was back in the day when I bought a tonne of anime DVD pretty much every month as they were released by Madman Entertainment and didn’t care what I was buying. Anything would do!

This is one of those anime where, despite the tits and ass… I felt disappointed by the mediocre story and boring action. As I watched it again after all these years, my opinion of it has fallen even further. There’s just nothing about Burst Angel that is worth the time wasted.

Why did I bother then? Why did I bother now? Oh well.

#82: Triage X

This one took itself way too seriously for its stupid premise and tried to pile a bunch of tropes on top of each other to make things worse.

Sure, we get plenty of tits and ass, but I’ve seen better and was surprised how bored I was from many pairs of swinging jugs on the screen. The “plot” isn’t even worth mentioning, but no one cares about that.

#83: Cat Planet Cuties

This show is the second tamest of the bunch, but it still has its moments. What worked about Cat Planet Cuties was its ability to make fun of the expectations people have about what aliens “should” be. You’d think, if you met an alien, it’d be some kind of weird monstrous looking thing that could only come from your wildest imaginings. Nope, they’re just human looking women that have cat ears (as well as human ears!) and tails.

It’s good for a laugh or two since it has a common theme of making fun of science fiction and some other genres, but, let’s be honest here, that’s not the real selling point. We’re here for the tits and ass… which is sadly lacking compared to the other shows on this list. This is a pretty standard kind of show, nothing too special, just weird catgirls doing weird catgirl things.

#84: Mayo Chiki!

What happens when a girl spends her life dressed up as a boy and then she falls for another boy? A whole bunch of weird Japanese tropes, that’s what.

This one felt more like it was one of those hentai’s that just cut out all the good stuff and strung you along with… nothing.

#85: Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls

I was told (by a certain someone) that this was a slice of life anime and I was clearly misled. It’s just another harem anime, but worse. Oh, boy, though… you can’t deny that they went above and beyond to bring you the most saucy content they possible could.

I would even say that this one outdid Interspecies Reviewers in a lot of ways with its content and innuendo. However, unlike that anime, I felt mostly annoyed with it all. Though, I will admit to a few laughs.

It’s a thing… your parents will be most disappointed with you if they saw you watching this one. Most definitely.
