This episode focuses on the bonus historical missions and uses multiple different starfighter variants. Things were going well, but then halfway through the stream, my area was hit with a power outage and… well… I can’t exactly stream without power.
I love the A-Wing, maybe not as much as the X-Wing but it’s still a hell of a starfighter. The B-Wing on the other hand, while it started off interesting, ended up being a nightmare in the end. That whole Death Star run “what if” mission is so damn TERRIBLE!
My name is Lynk Former and I’m an X-Wing pilot… at least, that’s part of the origin of the name I came up with for myself. In that spirit, it’s time to take on the Empire in one of my most played games of the mid-90s.
Before I get into the cockpit of an X-Wing, let’s take a blaster and shoot some Stormtroopers with Kyle Katarn in Dark Forces for a little bit… though, as I’ve discovered pretty quickly, this game along with all the other ones I played before it are definitely a product of their time…
The third game in the Heretic/HeXen series takes us into the Quake engine rather than the Doom engine and there are a lot of improvements, though, it’s definitely not a game that I’d be able to play all the way through, at least not after I’ve been spoiled by much newer games.
After trying to get through Heretic’s second level, I decided to go beyond Heretic with HeXen… which didn’t turn out as well as I hoped because I couldn’t even get pass the first level. However, it is pretty cool how this game allows you to choose between three character classes.
I’ve never played Heretic, but since I’ve got time to have a look, let’s try and see how far I get with this oldskool game that not a whole lot of people ended up playing… aaaand, it turns out I didn’t get very far, this game is way too oldskool for me.
This is it, the last stretch of the game where we finally confront Lisa Trevor and then head down to the laboratory and make use of that Magnum that I have been saving for all this time.
This session starts with Yawn and ends with Yawn, but there’s plenty of exciting things in between… and a few deaths as well. Plenty more mistakes were made and I ended up setting myself back pretty far because of them…
I’ve decided that with my playthrough with Chris, I’m going to play the game on normal difficulty instead of easy like I did with Jill. I end up dying a few times due to my own stupidity early on, but I do manage to finally get into gear and make it all the way to getting the Shield key.
Oh hey, figured out everything and finally made it through the game with Jill! However, this is not the end! Chris is ready to go and have his moment to shine, so pretty soon, I’ll be starting his playthrough and reunite with Rebecca!
